I was disgtressed to learn that one who had a registered domain name using his own name could be sued by one the Japanese Auto giants who were named Datsun. It doesn't make sense if his name was registered before Datsun decided to use the name Nissan. In my area of the south we tend to stick up for the little guy. If this suit continues I certainly would never entertain the notion to purchase a Nissan Automobile. Some of us still have not gotten over the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor..

Nissan Motors,
I found your dispute concerning the domain name "nissan.com" quite interesting. My brother and I were both in the market for new vehicles. He had his eye on the Pathfinder and I liked the Xterra. We had test driven both of them and were ready to make a move with the dealer. I must tell you that after hearing that you are attacking a small computer company over THEIR internet domain name, that we both immediately changed our minds. We both purchased new vehicles this week. I went with an Explorer and my brother went with an  Expedition. Nissan Motors, you lost my respect and my business for life. I will do my best to inform others of your unethical tactics.
Paul Hagan

Dear Nissan,
I notice you like to bully individuals and small organizations around. As a Nissan owner this sickens me. I am currently selling my Nissan and I will never own another one of your products. I will do my best to persuade everyone I come in contact with not to buy a Nissan. You can bet the word will spread about your tactics on the web.
Have a nice day.

This is in support of Mr. Uzi Nissan. No corporation with so much money should ever be allow to undermind individual rights to practice his business in our society.  It is immoral and unconstitutional for Nissan motor to intimidate and threaten Mr. Uzi Nissan.  I would urge Nissan motors to get real and leave Mr. Nissan alone.  If nissan motor doesn't, you can rest to sure that, "Nissan is going to go bankrupt and would be better off going bankrupt, the world doesn't need it." (to quote Jurgen E. Schrempp, CEO of DaimlerChrysler, http://www.businessweek.com/2000/00_23/b3684147.htm ).
Hope this email find Nissan motor in brankrupt court. the world would be much better off without a company whose products destroy our planet.

Coincidentally, I have just come back from a Nissan dealership, wanted more information on the XTerra, and typed in "http://www.nissan.com"  I was surprised, but not frustrated to find a site not related to the Nissan automotive firm.  What frustrates me is that you are suing Uzi Nissan for daring to have the same name as your company. Shame on you. I'm going for the Jeep.   Now I feel bad about buying that Quest last year! This nonsense must cease immediately. For confirmation of my story, you may contact Mickey Speth, the fine salesman I met today at Hubler Nissan, Inc. in Indianapolis. Their number is (317)888-9227.  YOU tell him why I decided not to buy the Nissan.

All I can do is lend my moral support to Mr Uzi Nissan and hope he prevails in this ridiculous law suit. I am not now in the market for a new vehicle , but you can be sure when I am in the future it won't be a Nissan.
Dale Carpenter

I believe Nissan Computers should keep the name simply because they bought it first.  It's just too bad none of Nissan Motors' six figure salary geniuses had the foresight to get on the e-business bandwagon in the beginning!

I think you F_____s SUCK!!!!!!!  Why don't you make a deal and share the damn name.  He had before you, and registered it before you.  I'll beat 60 minutes would love to do a story on this...
Brian Lestina

It is time to make a stand, Corp America is big strong and unjust. This country and its future is in the hands of the small people, Uzi Nissan is just one of them. It is time to make a stand,
I am with you Uzi Nissan

To Whom It May Concern,
This suit appears to be quite without merit, because it demands someone not use his family name of generations past in his own business.  The suit would be more valid if it was reversed.  A financial offer could be made for the domain name, but I myself would probably not be inclined to accept such an offer because I would prefer to use my own name.
Thank you.
Douglas K. Turner

I don't see why you feel threatened by a copmany by the same name if your copany sells cars and the other copany sells computers.  I mean unless they are suggesting false advertizement for you product I think that your company's actions are completely null and void.
Sincerely,
Amber Revolt

I fully support Nissan Computer Corp. in their efforts to keep and maintain their rightfull ownership of the domain nissan.com.  It is an outrage that this type of behaviour is conducted by large corporations. Are they not wealthy enough already. Don't they have impresive resources already to efectively compete worldwide?  What more do they whant!  I am a small businessman also, and I don't what this injustice to happen to me or any other of my fellow small businessmen and businesswomen.
I will pass this petition to my colligues and friends.  Let's stop this piracy before this emerging economic era so predominately represented by the Internet is swallowed by big business and the so called "Captains of Industry" did when the Industrial revolution began.  For lack of space here, I will just say this:  Let's not give this new bright promising era to the "Rockafellers" of today. I think the 19 th and 20 th centuries where enough.
Nessi Encinos

Your name belongs to you.  Sometimes it may be simular to someone elses but it still belongs to you.  You are your name.  Just because you are bigger doesn't give you the right to take away anyone's name.  Consumers are smart enough to realize that Nissan Computer is not the same company as Nissan Motor.
Ilene Strong

This is complete garbage! This is America, land of the free! Not communist Russia! We don't take things from other people simply because we want them. If they want the dot-com name, they should decide how much it is worth to them and PURCHASE it from him...If he chooses to sell it.
That is capitalism and that's the way it should work in this country.
Kevin Freels

They got the domain names first, they have a valid trademark and company name and reason for using it, don't cry about it now, you should have had better lawyers working for you 6 years ago.  I'm in law and own a Nissan and an Infiniti, if i were Nissan Computer I would sue Nissan Motors for interference with economic relations, and everything other tort i could come up with.  F__k You Nissan Motors for abusing intellectual property rights... get over it.

This and many other law suits should be stopped in their tracks.  Where did Nissan Motor Company get its name???
Claudia Colicchio

I can only provide my strongest support for  Nissan Computer. I feel strongly that these unwarranted hyjackings on legitimate business by the multinational should be curtailed.
Christian Lacoste

I would like to take this oppurtunity to say I am shocked at Nissan car Company for this ridiculous behaviour and hope that this email can help to make them realise the stupidity of the court case. I feel that they should drop the case.

Has Nissan Computer heard the term counter suit?  If Nissan Computer wins. What stops them from counter suing Nissan Motor for damages?
Floyd Johnson

I believe this is totally wrong. I could understand if this case had no basis for Uzi Nissan to use Nissan.com or Nissan.net.. however he does and Nissan is just upset that they can not get a domain name that matches their business. If they want it so bad they should buy it from Mr. Nissan outright if he wants to sell, otherwise they should chalk it up to "better luck next time" and find another name.
